During the record flood of 2022 none of the cabins on this portion of the island flooded. The island has a great Rainy Lake history and was conceived by Major Horace Gordan Roberts in 1913. Roberts was a well to do businessman from Davenport, Iowa and reportedly had vast lumber holdings around the country.

In 1959 Gerald and Olive Wagness bought the island and ran it as a resort till 1972 before it was sold into private hands. The island boasts 4 cabins with 9 bedrooms total, a generous woodshop, a woodshed, a kids play cottage, a gazebo, a centrally located laundry and a small bunkhouse for additional sleeping quarters and access to a shared beach. Located on the edge of Voyageurs National Park the fishing is world class and the Canadian Shield scenery is second to none.
