The origin story dates to the 1880s and was the original home of Thomas Collier. In 1908 it was sold to the Turnverein, the German community group that operated the Turnhalle, the beautiful stone building next door.
The Ernst family purchased both buildings in 1938. In 2018 the Lawrence Preservation Alliance purchased the building and sold it to the current owner who has completely and tastefully renovated the home. The exterior brick is handsome and strong; the southern windows provide glorious natural light.
